The Seattle Seahawks, elected to maintain their Covid19 quarantine bubble, by remaining in Seattle and working out at their training facilities, and focused on getting themselves healed up and staying in NFL game shape, so when they learned on short notice that the NFL elected to move their game with the Arizona Cardinals to Sunday Night Prime Time, That is the Seahawks 3rd Sunday Night Prime Time appearance in 6 games this season.
So if you haven’t updated your game calendars yet, the game has moved from 1:05 pm to 6;00 pm on Sunday Night, on NBC networks as well as several means and methods of streaming games via your internet connections.
I personally subscribe to the NFL Game Pass, that allows me to stream every game within 15 minutes after its conclusion, a few hours later I can watch the condensed commercial free format, and a couple of days, I can watch the “Coaches Version”, that gives you two angles of each and every play without any audio, so you don’t have any announcers or commentary influencing what your watching, forcing you to rely on what your seeing.
i will initiate a thread where 12th Men can review all the ways that there are to watch the Seahawks games live when they are being aired. I’m still trying to figure out a way to stream all of our Seahawk games in real time, in our IRC where a virtual stadium where members can logon to seating section channels 500 seats per section and all being fed the game in realtime and able to interact with each other almost like we would in real stadium seating.
Okay back to the matchup and talking about what we can expect to see on Sunday Night in Arizona. The Seahawks have become a road warrior team, having been coached, and conditioned to be at their best on the road and at home. That is a big change from when Pete Carroll first came to the Emerald City and took over a team that had a reputation of being a team that was tough as hell to beat at home, but not so tough when they strayed from their 12th Man.
Over time they have come to accept that the 12th Man is a living breathing entity that is the accumulative of the largest NFL fan base in the world, that has become maybe even more so during the Covid19 Pandemic.
Paul Allen opened up his world renowned research team, who formulated a formula that is applied to each and every game of each and every season, taking into account the prospects of playing through the post season to the championship rounds and Super Bowl Championship challenges.
Every hour of every day, every meal, every hour of sleep when they sleep and how long they sleep, their conditioning programs, so that they are able to conclude and imitate their plans for their next game, within a few hours from the end of each game.
The Seahawks are a true professional NFL football organization. The had pulled out the blueprints for playing the Arizona Cardinals, about 10 minutes after the Minnesota Vikings game was in their rear view mirror.
Because the Bye Week varies from year to year, It has little to no bearing on when it comes in the Seahawks season. This year we had a fairly long injured list, coming out of week 5, most of them were of a minor issue and the players were able to capitolize on attending to their wounded and most were able to complete full practices this week, with the exception of Jamal Adams who is nursing a sore groin.
Jamal is one of the best Strong Safeties in all of the NFL, but that and a $10.00 bill will buy you a beer at game time. Meaning that if he can’t stay healthy and on the playing field, he is not going to hold value in this game very long. I’m hoping that this is an isolated matter and that it does not become the norm for Jamal as we progress into the season.
I’m all for giving him all the time he needs to not only mend up from the injury, but get himself in NFL playing condition. Jamal plays balls out giving you everything he has every second he’s on the field. and I’m sure if you let him choose to play or set out this game on Sunday Night, he would be the first one to suit up and step out on the playing field, except for maybe Russell Wilson maybe.
If he is going to play like that, and he is, then he knows that he is going to have to make greater sacrifices in conditioning himself for that level of play. On the Seahawks roster, both defense and offense, you see star players like Jamal, we are blessed with a number of them and they all work longer and harder than many of their peers do to achieve greatness and maintain it.
Enough about Jamal. the Seahawks look to take to the field on Sunday Night with a healthy team that is ready to take it to the Arizona Cardinals at every turn. Consider that we finally have Phillip Dorsett along with all the other super talented WR’s, TE’s, and diversified RB’s for Russell Wilson and Shotgun Shotty to fire to and an Offensive Line that can deliver the precious seconds that Russell needs to run his progressions and zero in on his targets again and again.
If you listen to sports analyst the majority of them are of the mind that the Cardinal’s Offense will continue to find success in their air game that they have had in their recent matchup with the LA Rams, and there is no question that they will find some success in the air, but not anything like what they were given by the Rams.
The Seahawks Defense has been very successful in shutting down the running games of all their opponents, when Dunbar has been able to play, the Seahawks air command has been able to limit their opponents air assault successes. No argument that Tre Flowers has struggled at filling in at the Weak Side CB, albeit not entirely defeated.
The Seahawks, if able to bring their defense to the field, less Jamal Adams, with Ryan Neal filling in for him and Quinton Dunbar is able to stay in play, we have a pretty solid defense to keep the Cardinals from getting anything going like they did playing the Rams.
Reed, Parkinson and back from a hiatus, Michael Kendricks finds his way back into the Seahawks line up, all three are game changers and when combined with the multiple forces already on the Seahawk defenses front line, the Cardinals Offensive line is going to have their hands full trying to stop the pressured that the Seahawks have brought to every QB they have challenged this season,
Kyler Murry has picked up the reigns for the Cardinals QB position, and is playing some great ball against some mediocre defenses, who have allowed him to turn in a few good outings.
Let’s make one thing perfectly clear, the Cardinals are not playing the LA Rams, on Sunday Night, the Rams Defense is not comparable to the LOB, and trust me when I say that the LOB is alive and well and is making it known in 2020.
When the Cardinals have faced quality opposition this season, their soft spots have been exposed. To try and compare Kyler with Russell, is ridiculous, perhaps in a few years we might revisit that comparison, but not in 2020. The only similarity is that Kyler is a smaller QB and has benefited from Russell’s ground breaking efforts early in his career.
Kyler, in my opinion, is being misused with the Cardinals putting all the weight of their teams failure or success on an air assault offense as the center piece of their strategy. He has one great pair of hands down the filed, in Larry Fitzpatrick, but Larry is getting along in years, his body started to betray him about 3 season back and every year, while still the most productive WR on the Cardinals offense, his stats continue to deteriorate and injuries are taking their toll on him.
It would not surprise me to see his career come to an end in a Seahawks matchup. I can see them testing our new rookie, Neal Ryan, who is not your normal 1st year rookie at Strong Safety, Jamal Adams would keep Larry a little more honest perhaps but Ryan is looking to make his bones on the Seahawks defense and Larry would be a great challenge for him to accomplish that. Quinton Dunbar is hopefully ready to go at Weak Side CB in this one and with Shaquill at Strong Side CB the Cardinals have their night cut out for them.
Griffin is nursing a sore shoulder, but it hasn’t slowed him down a lick this season, he’s a tough guy that works extra hard to keep his body in NFL shape, and can play through the pains that take a lot of other players out of the game.
While everyone is focused on Kyler and what threat he might pose for the Seahawks, don’t blink when DangeRuss starts hooking up with the Seahawks air assault targets, which are all healthy and we should see Phillip Dorset on the playing field for the 1st time for the Seahawks on Sunday Night.
The Seattle Seahawks have yet to bring the complete healthy LOB to their game yet, each showing they are playing sort a few key players, but this Sunday night, less Jamal Adams, we are fully cocked and loaded on Defense and will bring a level of pressure to Josh Rosen that he has never faced before and he and the Cardinals organization will find out exactly what they have in the way of a QB when the clock strikes zero at the end of the 4th quarter.
I believe that this game will likely go much the same as most of our games have gone. The Seahawks will shut down Arizona’s run game early, Josh will be forced to go to the air, and will have some limited success early on,, only to be held to field goals, perhaps a touch down or two, before the Seahawks line pressure starts to break down the Cardinals offense and particularly starts to get to Josh and he starts to second guess himself and that is when all hell will break loose for the Seahawks, interceptions, fumbles, and the Cardinals offensive elites begin to make their way to the sidelines and into their sports medicine tent, and on to the injury list for week 8.
