Welcome to 2025 OTA’s
The Seattle Seahawks have kicked off their 2025 Offseason Team Activities (OTAs), and excitement is in the air! Week one was kept under wraps, shrouded in secrecy as the team closed practices to the public. However, week two opened the floodgates for fans and news outlets alike, revealing some riveting intel on our quarterbacks.
Quarterback Assessments: Darnold on Top?
All eyes are on Sam Darnold, who has been designated the starting quarterback without the traditional competition we’ve come to expect in the Pete Carroll era. It’s a bold move, especially considering the swarm of talent in our quarterback room. Interestingly, reports indicate that Darnold faced some struggles, throwing three red zone interceptions. Meanwhile, Drew Lock has been gaining ground, delivering a flawless performance with multiple touchdown completions.
Where’s the Competition?
It’s hard not to wonder—has the culture of competition we’ve admired in the Seahawks quickly turned into mere lip service? With Darnold seemingly handed the reins, one can’t help but question the wisdom of avoiding competition altogether. Jalen Milroe, our rookie acquisition, also shone with a commendable performance. If a true competition were underway, Drew Lock would definitely be in the driver’s seat right now.
As the off-season progresses, it’ll be interesting to see how the dynamics unfold. Will the coaches stick to their guns or reconsider their strategy? Only time will tell, but for now, fans can enjoy the discussions surrounding the ever-evolving Seahawks’ quarterback saga!
As the 2025 season approaches, one thing has been made crystal clear, Jalen Milroe isn’t taking no for an answer, at least not without a fight. In spite of Seahawks management designation of Sam Darnold as their starting quarterback, Milroe can be found on the practice field every morning at 4:30 AM, rain or shine. When the call does come for him to step up and play as the Seahawks starter, it’s a pretty sure bet that Jalen Milroe will be ready for the challenge. Sam Darnold will be afforded every opportunity to establish himself as the Seahawks starting quarterback and will remain there for so long as he is successful. Mike MacDonald will not stand by and let a winning season slip away, if Sam doesn’t measure up.
