The game is underway, the Seahawks kick off to the Bills who’s return man strikes a little fear in the Seahawks special teams, taking it out to their 40.

The Bills came out warmed up and tried to put the Seahawks on their heels early in this one and with some sucess.  The Seahawks defense was quick to jump on Bills running game and bring a lot of pressure on Josh Allen.

Allen goes to the air with nothing on the ground and finds success there, the Bills go t their endzone thru the air and connect to draw first blood in this matchup.  Russell goes 3 and out on the Seahawks first series, DeeJay Dallas the only one to connect with Russell but comes up short of a 1st down on 2nd down and Russell misses on 3rd down, the Seahawks punt away,

The Bills are going to the air for yards, their running game effectively shut down by Seattle’s defense,  The air targets are short over the middle and the Seahawks are trying to contain them and force them to punt on 4th downs,

This one while looking like its going to be a good toe to toe slugfest, is going to be short lived in the opinion of this writer, the Seahawks are bringing a lot of pressure and that pressure is catching up with the Bills, as Josh is being stopped and starting to make mistakes, its only a matter of time before it starts to cost the Bills,

To the Bills credit they are threatening to score again in thier second possession of the 1st quarter. Dunlap stopped Josh Allen from running it in but was called for a horse collar, that gave the Bills a 1st and goal, Allen connects on the next play, Bills go up 14 to 0, early in the 1st quarter.

The Seahawks need to not buy in to the Bills game plan which was to gamble and try to put up points early and force the Seahawks to start playing in their heads instead of just going out there and playing football as a team and having fun doing what comes naturally to them, If They Let It.

Dallas runs for a 1st and 10 on his 1st carry of the series, Russell goes back to DeeJay on the next 1st down, who takes it for another 10 and 1st down, Russell fires to Moore for 8 yards, 2nd and 2, Russell goes to DK Metcalf for a 1st and 10, Russell fires to Lockett who reels it in for another 1st down, the Seahawks at their own 25, Russell hands it to Dallas who takes it for another 9 yards, 2nd and 1 Russell pitches a short one to Hollister, the again to Greg Olson, the seahawks 3rd and 1 at the 4 yard line, DeeJay fails to get the 1st down, its 4th and 1 and the Seahawks appear to be thinking about going for it instead of settling for a field goal.

Russell throw an interception to the endzone, ugh, thats Football. The Seahawks are playing football and if they stick to that, they will be fine.  It always hurts when a play goes south like this one did. Russell held the ball to long  instead of firing before the Bills defense had a chance to cover all his targets, DeeJay was there early but didn’t get Russell’s eye,. The Bills take possession on their own 20 and connect to take it out to  their 40. Josh connects and the Bills come up short of a 1st down, 2nd and 9 Allen fires deep and Tre Flowers breaks it up. The Bills run for a 1st down and pass for another 1st down, now at their own 40 yard line.

The Seahawks need to stay composed and keep doing what they are doing, it will pay off in the second half of this game when the Bills Offense is worn down and unable to protect Allen any longer.

I maintain that the key to the Seahawks game is just that, that they continue to play the game of football and have fun doing it.  The Seahawks stop the Bills short on the next play, but Allen gets the time he needs to find a target and finds another 1st down, at their 20 yard line.  finally the Seahawks get to Allen for a sack, 2nd and 10 at their 25, The Seahawks stop the Bills short again on a quick toss to the right Seahawks, more accurately KJ Wright sacks Allen again  and the go for a field goal on 4th and nail it. The Bills go up 17 – 0.

Russell Wilson and the Seahawks have been here plenty of times over the years and it’s where Russell is most dangerous historically. For reasons that no one will  likely ever understand, Russell needs to find himself in these moments, that unleash something within him that refuses to be defeated.

On the Kickoff, the Seahawks run it out to the 15 yard line instead of taking the fair catch and taking it at the 25. Russell hold on to the ball and runs it for 4  yards. 2nd and 6 Russell goes to Dallas short of the 1st down 3rd and 3, it’s important that Russell converts but misses to Metcalf, but there is a flag that give the Seahawks an automatic 1st down.

Russell goes to DeeJay who picks up 3 for a 2nd and 7, Russell goes deep to DK Metcalf who was man to man and reels it in for a 1st down on the Seahawks 40 yard line. 1st and 10, a quick pass to Lockett who places the Seahawks at their goal line, Dallas is stopped on first attempt, Russell goes in with a QB sneak on the following down and the Seahawks draw blood and make it a 17-7 game, in the second quarter of this one.

On a note of interest, the Seahawks have never lost a game where they led by 4 points at halftime. It will be interesting to see what the score situation id at that point in this matchup.

The  Bills run it out to their 20, Josh fires deep and connects, to put the Bills out to their own 40 yard line, Josh fires to Diggs who picks up another 1st down and steps into their end of the field now at their 35, fires a quick pass and are now at their 15 yard line. Josh connects again for a short gain but enough to give them another 1st down it appears, putting them at 1st and goal. Josh connects again over the middle in the endzone and the Bills score again, extra point is good and the Bills go up 24-7.

The Seahawks defensive secondary needs to rethink their strategy in this one, Josh Allen is having a hay day going short over the middle. I’m guessing what I am seeing is a form of zone defense in the secondary, maybe more of a man to man might be more affective, keeping the pressure on Allen is key in the over all game plan.

Russell takes the ball at the 20 and holds on for a sack on 1st down but find Hollister for a 1st down on the next down, then throws it away to avoid a sack. Alex Collins is back in Seattle and runs it for a few coming up short of a 1st  but  Russell finds Hollister again for anther 1st down and takes them into Seahawks territory.

I hope that Collins presence on the field doesn’t signal anything having happened to Dallas and that he just spelled him.  Pete Carroll always had a thing for Collins and kept him on their roster much longer than most agreed was necessary.

Russell tosses a quick one to Metcalf who goes 7 yards, 2nd and 3 the Bills defend the pass, Russell at 3rd and 3 goes deep to Swain in the endzone but misses, and the Seahawks go a field goal and get it, the score 27-10.

Swain can be a hot target when he and Russell get in sync, twice in that last series though, it wasn’t there.  Russell’s passes were on target, but Swain needs to get a little more aggressive in his game.

The Bills call fair catch and take it at their 25. Josh Allen throws it away on 1st down, no flag for intentional grounding.  2nd down Josh again a short pass that the Seahawks stop well short of a 1st down, 3rd and 6. Allen 2nd and 3rd the pass is deflected, 3rd ad 3, the Bills are at their own 45 yard line.  25 seconds left in the 1st half. Allen is sacked, the Bills opt to go for a field goal attempt from 60 yards, and its no good. The 1st half ends the Seahawks 10 and the Bills 27 who will kick off to the Seahawks to start the second half of the game.

2nd half is underway, The Seahawks to receive and call for a fair catch, Russell will start on the 25.  1st down short to Lockett, 2nd down Russell misses again to Metcalf over the middle, 3rd down Russell the Bills force a fumble and come up with it.

Bills have the ball on their own 25 yard line, Dunlap sacks Josh on 1st down for a loss the Bills move back to their 30.  Josh pulls a flag on the 2nd down and another loss, 2 and 27, Josh find a target deep and no Seahawk in sight, 1st and goal the Seahawks deny, 2nd and goal, the Seahawks stop the Bills again, 3rd and goal, Josh misses and the send their field goal team out and its good, the Bills go 27 – 10 in the 3rd  Quarter.  I’ll go on record at this moment when I say that I’m not concerned about the Seahawks finding a win in this one.

Its Russell’s Modus Operendi  to fight his way back from these sort of deficits.  The Seahawks call fair catch and hand off to Travis Homer who picks up a few the Seahawks are 3rd and 3 after Russell misses to Tyler again, then goes to Moore for a 1st down.  Russell finds Metcalf and the Seahawks move into their endzone.

Travis  Homer goes nowhere on 1st down, on 2nd Russell finds Jacob Hollister for another 1st down. Duane Brown comes out, Russell fires to Metcalf fore another 1st down, the Seahawks at their 20, Collins gets nothing, I still haven’t gotten an update on DeeJay, I sure hope it’s nothing serious.  2nd and 13 Russell goes to Olson leaving the Seahawks 3rd and 8 Russell fires to Hollister, who gives the Seahawks a 1st down and goal.  Russell hands off to no one else but DeeJay who runs it in for his 3rd NFL touchdown and the Seahawks move up 27-17 in the 3rd Quarter.

The Bills call fair catch and take it out to the 25, the Seahawks stop them at the 30 on thier 1st down attempt, 2nd and 6 Josh is sacked for no gain.  3rd down and 6 and Josh is Sacked again, the Seahawks defenses hard work is paying off.  The Bills punt it away, Moore to receive takes it to the  Seahawks 40 yard line.

Russell finds a wide open Will Dissly over the middle who takes it out to the 50 for a 1st down.  Russell misses to Lockett, but we discover as a result of a Bill defender who draws a roughing the passer penalty.

Travis Homer runs it for 5 yards on their 1st down. Russell hands off to Homer who is stopped almost immediately.   3rd and 7 Russell gets rid of it but Lockett is unable to reel it in, no miracle today but one hell of a try.  The Seahawks take the field goal and it’s a 20-27 game. This game is far from over but the winds of fortune do appear to have shifted in the Seahawks favor and they are making the best of it.

Dunlap is making himself known to the 12th Man community and is  making a lot of fans today. It’s clear that the defense is still a little out of sync but it’s starting to take form and when it does they will be unstopable

The Seahawks continue to bring the pressure and Josh Allen is starting to cave in under pressure, but still manages to find targets in the open, the Seahawks need to tighten up on pass coverages.  The zone defense is working so far as limiting the progress of the Bills, and if the front line continues to bring the pressure on Allen its just a matter of time before the Seahawks force a turn over and capitolize on it to even the score and set themselves and Russell Wilson’s offense up for another cardiac arrest Seahawks winning finish.

Jaron Reed Sacks Allen and very nearly forces the ball loose. 2nd and 15 false start 2nd and 20, Allen finds a target to make it 3rd and 9, Seahawks sack Allen, there is a flag on Adams, 1st and 10 Bills, that hurt.  Seahawks sack the Bills RB  for  a loss, 2nd and 16, Josh finds a target for 3rd and 16, Brown runs it to a 1st and goal, with the Seahawks committed to a blitz and defending the pass.

Dunbar is flagged for interference, but stops a TD, still 1st down, the Bills run it in for a TD on the next play, the ;ick up the extra point to make it a two score game again 34-20.

Russell and his offense have their work cut out for them, still lots of time, the Seahawks Defense are likely to be the game changer in this one, forcing a turn over eventually.  They have very nearly succeeded in that effort a couple of times already.  Close only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes and this isn’t either one.

The Seahawks call fair catch on the kickoff and Russell will start at the 25. Russell holds on a little too long and is sacked on first down.  2nd down Russell is sacked again, he fell rather than being sacked 3rd down Russell throws an interception and the Bills are back 1st and Goal.

The Bills make quick work of it and Josh takes it in for a TD on their 1st attempt. The Bills go up 41-20, its getting a little scary now for the Seahawks, Russell has been off all day, I keep thinking and trusting that he’ll get in sync, but.

The Seahawks call fair catch and start from the 25. Lets hope this series is not a repeat of their last. Russell goes to Lockett for  a 1st down, Homer runs it for another 1st down, Russell fires deep to Moore in the endzone for another Seahawks TD, and the game is 27-40, still needing 2 TDs to win this one and needing to stop the Bills from scoring anymore.

Let’s hope that the Seahawks defense isn’t spent yet and can give their team a few breaks while there is still time.  I keep waiting and watching for that Seahawks 12th Man Magic Moment that seems to appear when we least expect it and most need it in every  game.  It doesn’t always equate to a win.

The Bills, start at their 25, with a fair catch. Seahawks stop the Bills run on 1st down, 2nd and 8, Josh misses deep 3rd and 8 and is stopped short, on 4th and 1 the Bills decide to go for it, but then opt to punt it away.

The Seahawks start at their 20 yard line. Russell on 1st and 10 misfires to Olson, 2nd and 10, Russell finds Lockett who goes out short of a 1st down, 3rd and 2 Russell, is sacked and stripped of the ball  the bills take it at their own 20.

Reed is down injured it appears. he gets to his feet and leaves the field of his own accord, lets hope he’s not injured again, it did appear to be his knee that has given his problems in recent times.

The Seahawks Defense does not need to take the blame for this defeat, they have done an excellent job in this game, but when the Seahawks offense leaves them with the Bills at 1st and goal 4 times in this one they were handed a mountain to high to climb to save their Seahawks in this one.

In short the Seahawks got their asses handed to them today, and if you want all the credit for the wins you have to take credit for all your losses to.  That in my opinion was exactly what happened today.  Russell has just not been able to get in sync all day long.

Russell hands off to Homer who runs it to the Seahawks 10, and takes on a Bill defender who leaves the field injured. Man I can’t help myself from believing in Russell Wilson, as bleak as it looks and as unlikely as it might be, I keep thinking about all the games that Russell has found a way to pull out of the trash can. 44-27 if the Seahawks score it will make it a 44-34 game, with less than 2 minutes on the clock. and onside kickoff, another TD and 2 point conversion there is still no way the Seahawks can recover from this one.

Russell is sacked 3rd and 5, and finds Metcalf at the goal line for a TD, the Seahawks get the extra point and 34-44. Too much and too little time to turn this one around, the Seahawks fail to recover on an onside kickoff attempt, and that pretty much spells the end of this one. The Seahawks leave Buffalo 6 and 2.

The Seahawks Defense is clearly tired and disappointed in the outcome of this game, but some one needs to tell them that they played one of their best defensive games this year and faced monumental difficulties and challenges that few NFL defensive units are asked to face.

It’s final, The Seahawks take another loss on their Season and head home to get ready to face the LA Rams at LA next Sunday.  The Seahawks have spent a great deal of their season away from home this year.  I need to set down and compare that with what other teams ae being asked to do. .  On closing, it was clear that Russell’s mind was not completely locked in to the game in front of him this week, it’s easy to say that he had an off day, its a little harder when ou ask yourselves why that might have been.

On a closing thought, from the first snap to the final snap of the football in todays game, I sensced that Russell Wilson’s mind was somewhere else, and not really in the game that was looking for him to show up.  I don’t know how many of you all are involved in Twitter, Facebook and other Social

Media communities, or if you follow our fellow Seahawk players, coaches and other Seahawks Social Media resources like Seahawks.net, Seahawks.com, and many others.  I am a Twitter junkie and do closely follow just about everyone that has ever or ever will play or work for the Seattle Seahawks.

The horrible, evil, mean spirited abuses that all of them endured, for supporting a more just and equal America for everyone and not just the privledged few. While I’m sure that they all sat with tear filled eyes, their hearts in their throats as it was announced that President (elect) Joseph Biden and Vice-President (elect) Kamala Harris, the first woman to be elected to the Vice-President position in the history of the United States of America, and it wasn’t enough that se was the woman, she was and is the first woman of color, to be elected to this position, which I’m certain was equally (equality) as emotionally moving as the rest of the experience.

I guess why I bring this up at this particular point in this article, is that if there was something else on Russell’s  mind today, this might very well explain what it was.  I can only imagine how important this all must be to Russell, his wife Ciera, and his beautiful children who now have a chance to live in a world  much different than what what he and his ancestors have survived in for the the past 400 years.

Well thats it folks another play by play game call.  Be  sure to stop back in a day or two for our game summary, and please, if you haven’t already, register ad weigh in with your own thoughts and opinions.
