Murphy’s law reared its ugly head today as fate would have it. Our live chat Teams channel server is experiencing technical difficulties today as fate would have it. It has worked flawlessly up and until it was time to open it up for todays game verses the Titans.
We will invest our time this week getting it up and operational for next weeks matchup. I will instead provide everyone with a general game review and summary. I might suggest that you visit Seahawks Brandon Nelsons Youtube podcast and live chat for this game if you are looking for live game time chat interaction with fellow 12vs. The difference between Brandon’s chat and our team chat is that our chat is an open forum chat where members can interact independently of the channel administrator.
The Seahawks are making this game difficult for themselves by not staying focused and disciplined. Instead they appear to be getting caught up in the emotions brought on by playing at home in front of their 12vs.
Coaches need to reel the players in and settle them down before this one gets away from them. Its critical that the Seahawks defense does not let the Titans get any momentum going. Not an easy accomplishment once you let the cat out of the bag, but to their credit the Seahawks collect themselves and hold the Titans to a field goal.
Now Wilson and the Seahawks offense need to follow suit and calm down and stay disciplined and they will do fine as well. No sooner said than done Russell comes out and a few plays later with a run by Carson,an airmail to DK and a home flight bomb to Lockett and the Seahawks score the 1st TD of the game goin up 10-6 early in the 2nd quarter.
Now we see if everyone can stay settled and focused and stop the Titans momentum in this one. I say again, that if the Seahawks don’t allow their emotions to dictate this game and remain disiplined, they can make an easy and very winnable game out of this one.
And they do with the Seahawks forcing a fumble and turnover that the Seahawks hand to Cris Carson on back to back plays that result in another Seahawk TD and extra point. The Seahawks go up 17-6 over the Titans.
Again the Seahawks need to remain disciplined and focused, and not let their emotions get the better of them. Not to be the case, with Seahawks defense racking up penalties froom being to aggressive, and helping the Titans down into their redzone. Hopefully the Seahawks can hold them to a field goal and stop this game from becoming competive.
3rd and 5 and they connect to Julio Jones for a Touchdown. Its a close call under review and the Officials and the heel did not appear to come down in bound and it is deemed incomplete instead. 4th and goal what will the Titsns do?
They settle for a fieldgoal and the score is 17-9 with the Seahawks leading on what appears to be the final series of the 1st half. The Seahaeks offense appears to have gathered themselves, and are working the clock and field with precision. The Titans draw a pass interference penalty in the endzone and with 2 timeouts remaining the Seahawks run it in with Chris Carson and add anohhe extra point, the Seahawks go 24-9, with only 17 seconds remaining for the Titans to respond. Nick Balore, the Seahawks Masked Man, came out of nowhere and stopped the Titans returner dead in his tracks. Tanahill takes a knee on the next snap and let’s the clock run out.
I’m confident that Pete and Ken will settle the defense at half time, and hopefully after the first hslf the Seahawks offense is confident in their new coordinator and his Play Action Westcoast Offense. Looking like a well oiled machine out there and in complete control of their destiny.
I am hopeful that lessons were learned in this game. That when things dont go exactly the way they planned, or when they are challenged, and they will be, these are all grown ass men, who are the best of the best in the world, that if they trust in their coaching and remain disciplined, that they can and will prevail over the course of the game.
To start the second half the Seahawks know they have to shut Derrick Henry down, not easily done, but important. Tre Flowershss been targeted as the weak link in the Seahawks defense snd rightfully so. Seahawks defense continue to be over zealous and draw costly penalties that rekindle the Titans hopes in this game and thry capitalize with a Derrick Henery TD and extra point, adding tto their dcore and making this a one score game with a 24-16 spread. I say again our defense needs to settle down and play disciplined. The Seahawks hold the Titans to a failed goal attempt. Russell and his possee need to put some points on the board and knock the wind out of the Titans sails. Seahawks score with a deep bomb to Freddy Swain, on 3rd and 11, when it really mattered, and while the Seahawks missed their extra point on an uprights bouncer hone wrong, they go up 30-16 to make the score a little closer to what I’d predicted. Derrick Henry got loose and ran it 50 yards for a TD and makes the Seahawks day a little more difficult than it needed to be. Its going to fall on Russell Wildon snd his offense to put this one away it looks like. The score tightens back up 30-23, not much room for error in this one. Russell goes 3 and out and they punt it away. I’m not very confident in our defense today. If they ever needed to play disciplined its now. This game is way closer than it needed to be and could easily be lost by our own hands.
As fate would have it the Seahawks defense fails to defend and the Titans tie this one and it goes into overtime. One thing is for sure, if you were hoping the Seahawks could win a game without a dramatic cardiac finish, dream on.
The Seahawks emotions continue to cost us in unnecessary penalty yards and have allowed the Titans to stay on the field and in the game. The Seahawks defend and give Russell and his offense an opportunity to close this one with a score, any score.
Russell doesn’t make good on his chance and they punt it away to the Titans. The Titans are in field goal range and it doesn’t look good for the Seahawks if the Titans kicker can make it thru the uprights.
A big diapointment for the Seahawks who kicked their own asses today with no competion from the Titans who were handed a couple of hundred yards in penalties alone. So get you’re towels out, cry you’re eyes out, and then put this one behind us and focus on our next assignment.
